Vietnam Wall foundation and walls completed at Veterans National Memorial Shrine & Museum

Ground breaking for the permanent Vietnam Wall construction at Veterans National Memorial Shrine & Museum in Fort Wayne took place on Veteran’s Day, Nov. 11, 2020. Today the Wall has taken on a whole new look.

Chris Harmon, director of field operations, The Hagerman Group, is extremely pleased with the progress being made at the Veterans National Memorial Shrine and Museum.

“We’ve been working on the concrete foundations and walls for the last 60 days. We are just about finished with that portion of the construction. We have some cleaning up to do on the wall but now it will have time to cure before we pour the sidewalks in the spring,” said Harmon. “We still have quite a bit of work to do on electrical, landscaping, and installing flag poles before the actual wall panels are installed in the spring.”

Target date for dedication is projected for Memorial Weekend this May. Fundraising efforts continue toward the goal of $1.7 million for Phase I of the construction efforts. www.honoringforever.org
