Q&A with Aimee Flynn, Carpenter Foreman

As a carpenter foreman for The Hagerman Group’s Fishers field operations, Aimee Flynn is currently supervising our self-performance carpentry crews and subcontractors at Bottleworks, one of our largest and most high-profile projects.

What made you decide to pursue a career in construction?

I have always enjoyed this type of work. At an early age, I started following around my grandfather, who was a carpenter and had his own business. I have uncles who have been in the trades as well.

What do you enjoy most about working in construction?

I enjoy the gratification of a job well done and looking back at the finished product. It’s a great feeling to say you were a part of something.

What do you enjoy most about working at The Hagerman Group?

The Hagerman Group has been a great change for me. It’s nice to work for a company that cares about its employees. I also like all of the training that is provided for us to grow.

How has Hagerman supported your career path?

I worked in heavy highway for 12 years as a carpenter, foreman and superintendent for a company that built bridges. I needed a change of pace and wanted to work in the building trades area of our field. Hagerman has given me the opportunity to do this. I’m enjoying learning and working for Hagerman.

What do you like to do when you’re not at work?

I like to do projects around my house and we like to go boating in the summer. I also love to cook, and I bake during the holidays.

What’s a fun fact that people don’t know about you?

I listen to all kinds of podcasts when I’m driving or doing housework.
