The Allen County War Memorial Coliseum was selected as the winner of the 2004 Build America Merit Awards in the Building Renovation Category.
The façade of the building carries masonry and limestone elements that complement existing structures on the campus, supplemented with modern steel and glass curtainwall elements.
Built in 1995, the Indianapolis Artsgarden features a dome that soars 95 feet above the intersection of Illinois and Washington streets in downtown Indianapolis. This 12,500 s.f. landmark serves as a performance center and connects to the cities indoor skywalk system.
Used as a means to demonstrate the unique and reciprocal relationship between contemporary art and our natural environment, the art park boasts 100 acres of woodlands, wetlands, a 35 acre lake and meadows situated behind the museum’s existing 52 acre campus.
The new headquarters building, while housing the staff and the society’s collection, provides an environment for scholarly research, informal research, classes, conferences, workshops, and exhibits.
